Congress's Out of Control Spending Problem

ICYMI Last week, the Republican-controlled House voted to pass a spending bill that received support from Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats. Let that sink in: the Republican-controlled House passed a spending bill that only a majority of Democrats supported, not Republicans. This bill is riddled with earmarks and fails to address crucial issues like securing our own Southern border while allocating funds to other countries to secure theirs.

The logic behind this spending is baffling. Conservatives advocate for small government, yet here we are witnessing a bill that goes against these principles. Are there no limits to what Republicans in Congress will do to continue us down this disastrous path? We must question: when is enough, enough?

I staunchly opposed this bill from the outset. The extensive list of objectionable items it contains has been well-documented. From DEI initiatives nationwide to allocating a billion dollars for the military's climate focus, funding for organizations like the WHO, and millions for the UN abortion fund—the bill is a clear compromise on our country's future.

Nebraska voters face a crucial decision on May 14th. I refuse to sell out Nebraskans and Americans like was done yesterday. This spending bill pushes us further away from a balanced budget and is frivolous and antithetical to conservatism in every sense of the word.
